Dates from Hell:

How to prevent dating horror stories

Everyone I know who is single and has been dating for a while has a dating horror story they want to share with me. They call them their Dates from Hell. I have accumulated so many of these voluntary submissions that “Hating Dating II, Dates from Hell” is almost written.  It’s always more fun to read about dating horror stories that happen to other people.

We all have to deal with people who make the dating experience difficult.   Some will get the day or the time of date wrong. Others could be badly dressed, poorly groomed, drunk, unshaven (both men and women), wearing no make-up, rude, unsmiling, abrupt, checks the time frequently, gets continuous cell phone calls, and other gross factors too numerous to mention.  It’s when these things all happen at once that we have a date from hell.

To avoid living your own dating horror story, I suggest using self defense. At a specified time have a trusted friend call your cell phone. If the date is going well you tell your date it was a wrong number.   If it’s a Date from Hell, fake an emergency and leave.
